Staying Home

Staying Home offers outreach, mediation, and targeted service delivery to help elders and people with disabilities to retain their independence in their own homes. Initial funding for Staying Home was provided by the Boston Foundation.

Who does Staying Home help?
This program helps elderly and disabled tenants, housing applicants, property owners and family members.

How does Staying Home work?
Any individuals needing support should call the Housing Consumer Education Center at (617) 425-6700. MBHP provides information, conducts home visits, and provides flexible emergency funds for minor home repairs and for temporary services needed to stay housed.

Staying Home provides information and referral to agencies that provide services such as:

· Meals on Wheels

· Home Health Care

· Elder Home Repair

· Home Delivery of Prescription Medication

· Transportation Solutions

· Family Caregiver Support

· Adult Day Care and Senior Center Programs

· Fuel Assistance

· Eviction Mediation

· Legal Assistance

· Financial Services

· Budgeting
