Ending Homelessness, One Family at a Time

Dear Friends:

Who are the new homeless? They are family, friends, relatives, and seniors who come from neighborhoods such as yours and who never thought they would be homeless. They had savings, pensions, and comfortable homes. Many are working families who have been hit hard by the nation’s economic crisis and who find themselves dealing with the delinquency of a mortgage or rental agreement.

Those same economic stresses that have affected our clients also have had a profound impact on how we provide our services. Financial losses and constraints, while always a consideration, now affect every aspect of our work.

These are difficult economic times and many deserving organizations are reaching out and asking for your support. Private funds are critical for us to address the immediate, everyday challenges and to provide resources to those most at risk . . . to house the homeless, to prevent a child from losing his or her home, or to allow an elder to stay housed or transition to a more stable environment.

Every day MBHP staff members witness the effects of homelessness, the risk of eviction, and the burdens placed on children and families, and they realize that providing rental assistance is only the beginning. Through a continuum of services, MBHP Housing Supports offers a holistic and creative approach to preserving tenancies, properties, and communities through innovative and personalized solutions.

You can help make a difference. Together we can make it possible for families to avoid homelessness: One Family at a Time.

Sincerely,
